More Information This evidence based, hands on, one day workshop is directed at Health Care Professionals who wish to keep up to date, and work more effectively with their clients to improve treatment outcome.
Learning
This one day workshop will
be a highly interactive case study based program. Following a brief didactic presentation with essential clinical information and latest
developments we will workshop assessment, case formulation, treatment planning and an early treatment session for patients with differing
eating disorder diagnoses, in role-play format. Participants are encouraged to email ED presentations they would like incorporated
prior to the workshop (this would be preferable to give time to plan: clinicdirector@byronclinic.com.au), or bring them on the day and
time allowing we will incorporate them. Participation in role-plays by workshop members will be encouraged but not mandatory.
Following the workshop you will: 1. Have improved diagnostic knowledge and skill. 2. Improved ability to formulate eating disorder cases. 3. Improved ability to plan treatment from case formulation 4. Improved ability to apply treatments to this population. 5. Feel more confident working with this population
Presenter
Dr Sarah Maguire is a clinical psychologist
with a PhD in the field of Eating Disorders. Dr Maguire is the appointed Eating Disorder Consultant to NSW Health and oversees their
eating disorder programs across NSW. Dr Maguire also works in private practice treating eating disorders, and general psychological illnesses. She has many years experience in
the field of eating disorders as both a researcher and clinician. Dr Maguire has trained in Australia and overseas with the leading experts in this field. Dr Maguire uses experiential learning as an integral part of her workshops, is an
energetic and interactive presenter with a wealth of knowledge and experience to impart on this workshop.
Cost and Registration
Registration - Places are limited and will be booked on a first come first served basis. If you intend to attend the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) workshop as well please advise by making note in the 'Additional Information' section of the online registration or tick the appropriate box in the "Credit Card and Fax Register" page.
Venue, Times and Addition Information The workshop will be held at SCU room on the first floor of the Byron Bay Community Centre, 69 Jonson Street, Byron Bay. Located between Byron and Marvell Streets right next door to the Post Office in heart of Byron Bay (town) with access to many exciting healthy lunch time experiences. Registration includes morning and afternoon refreshments. Workshops start with registration from 8.30am and get underway by 9am, with a lunch break around midday for approximately 30 minutes. Finishing about 4.30pm - followed by an informal pack up discussion till around 5pm. Payment information: 1. Certificates of attendance at this Professional Development activity will be available upon completion. If required writen tests can be available to strengthen learning. Terms and Conditions Please list one person per each registration form. Workshop places are limited and will be booked on a first come first served basis. A person is not registered for this workshop until the completed registration is received and workshop payment has been processed. The applicant is responsible for supplying clear and correct information; changes or additional contact may incur an admin fee. Applications will be processed according to the advertised conditions. A tax receipt and confirmation of your registration should be issued within 7 working days of receipt, via email. And you agree to contact Byron Clinic if you have not received notice within 7 working days. Tax receipts will be made out to the applicant unless otherwise stated. Requests for additional copies or changes to the attendance certificate or tax invoice will incur a $20 administration fee per item. Byron Clinic provides refreshments which include a selection of vegetarian and gluten free food. Byron Clinic does not cater for any other special diet requirements. Cancellations must be made in writing. A substitute may attend in your place; this will incur a $40 admin fee. Cancelation before close of standard registration will be reimbursed payment less an $80 cancelation and admin fee. No refunds will be made for cancelations after close of standard registration. Byron Clinic may offer to have your registration payment credited towards another Byron Clinic workshop; this will incur a $50 admin fee. Byron Clinic Pty Ltd reserves the right to make any changes to the above workshop without notice. In the event Byron Clinic Pty Ltd needs to cancel the workshop, then a full refund will be made. Byron Clinic Pty Ltd will not be responsible for any cost other than the workshop payment.
